To all 2007 trophy sponsors,

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the problems that occurred at the 2007 Ohio State Fair Clyde & Shire show. Much of what happened is out of my hands, but I accept responsibility for trying to solve the problems since this has been my job for many years.

First, I would like explain that when the show office sends out the complimentary passes for the trophy sponsors, they generally use the list I provide them in January. Those sponsorships that come in late are sent on to the show office, but I doubt that they have the staff to constantly update records. So.. ...if you did not receive the complimentary tickets and parking pass, please have your request and $$ to me by the January deadline so that your name and address are on file with the show office early. For all the procrastinators (and I consider myself to be in this category!), I've decided to attempt asking for sponsorships for 2 years beginning with 2008. Not only will it save you having to write a check next year, but you can also SAVE $10.00 in the process! Details are on the sponsorship list. I do not have an answer as to why those of us who sponsor 2 classes do not get tickets for both classes. I am still working on the answer for that one, but will keep at it and let you know as soon as I get an answer.

Finally, for those who did not have their trophies presented during the show on Friday.........1 don't have any answers other than what I heard that the show office said they were sorry and will assume the cost of making sure they are sent to the winners. I haven't heard that anyone is still missing a trophy, so I can only assume the show office held up to their word. Please let me know if this is NOT the case.

I would not still be volunteering to spend time and effort to help make sure each class is covered by a trophy sponsor if it were not for all of you. YOU are the ones that make it possible for us to have this level of coverage and have made it relatively simple for me to accomplish each year. I thank you all for your support and understanding over the years. Brenda Damschroder has volunteered to help me this year, so perhaps with both of us keeping tab on things, perhaps we can avoid a repeat of this past year's problems.
