Hello ORCSA members,

What a Fall - so far it's a repeat of what Spring was like this year - rain, rain and more rain plus MUD. At least, that's the way it's been in Northern Ohio. I just wonder what "ole Man Winter" has in store for us?

I don't have too much to report this time, just a few things to go over though:

1st - Mark your calendars for the All Breed Draft Horse/Pony Show Meeting, for the 2012 Ohio State Fair, on December 10,2011 starting at 10:00am and held in the DiSalle Building, which is located just North of 17th Ave on the Fair Grounds. Tell the gate tenders that you are here for the Horse Show Meeting and you won't be charged for parking. We will also have our ORCSA General Membership Meeting afterwards, so bring some snacks and drinks to share at our meeting. Our nominations for our 2012 judge will be forwarded to Tim Myers so he can present them at the Breed Advocates' meeting after our meeting.

2nd - The results of our Officer Elections are: Vice President - Norm Guiher - 2 year term Treasurer - Brenda Damschroder - 1 year term Secretary - Anita Guiher - 1 year term Non - Horse owner Trustee - Al Sidell - 3 year term Thank you for all of you who took the time to vote. It is your right and it is appreciated.

3rd - A BIG thank you to Mark Main and his crew - Jill - for hosting our Fall Outing. It was a chilly and damp day, but eventually, the sun came out and, we hitched his mares and went for nice ride through the woods and around his neat place. Thanks Mark!

4th -1 am including the results of the Ohio State Fair for the Clyde & Shire Classes. Congratulations to all that participated - it is a lot of work, dedication to our breeds and financial investment to do these shows. I know I can identity with all of this and my hat goes off to you folks who compete and keep our horses in the lime light with the public. Thank you! Here are a few things to think about:

a. Time to renew your membership for 2012 - Invoice will be sent out separately - Return to Brenda.

b. We need someone to host our 2012 Annual Picnic.

c. We need more members to volunteer for some of our committees - list included and let me know if there's something you can help with.

d. Fill out your Stallion Listings for the 2012 Breeding Season - Form included - Return to Anita

e. It is never too soon to start talking to our Youth for a possible nomination for our 2012 Youth Representative. Info and Form included - Return to Anita

f. Trophy Sponsorships for the 2012 Ohio State Fair - Form will be sent out with Dues Invoice - Return to Brenda.

g. If you have a classified ad to post in our newsletters and our web site, send it to Anita. You might be looking for something or have something to sell or trade - Horses or equine related. Let me advertise it for you - it is FREE.

Norm and I didn't go to the Great Lakes Show in Lansing, MI in Mid October, but we did go to the World Clydesdale Show in Madison, WI in late October. We had lots of Clydes to look at (600 + or -). Big classes and the judge, Dean Woodbury, had his hands full, to say the least. I think he did a pretty good job, considering most of the hitches were equal in so many ways... it would be hard to say who is 1st, since they all were so good.

Well, this will probably be the last newsletter for 2011, so let me be the first to wish you all the best for the up coming Holiday Season and lets hope we find peace amongst ourselves and hopefully our troops will come home soon. We need to take care of own and not always be the costly peacemaker of the world. May God bless you all with good health, family and good friends to share our life's journey.

Anita

President Andy's notes:

I want to say "thank you" to all the members who voted and also "thanks" to the members who ran for a position on our Board. Also, I'd like to welcome the new officers and thank our current officers, for their work and involvement. I look forward to the new year and hope everyone will try to participate in our upcoming events. Hope to see you all at the December meeting.
